Hey everybody,
So we're finally ready to start Journey 3! There's a few more changes to the line-up, especially as we're ramping up production on our first game, and dealing with a few more business-y things.
- Show length
Cut again to target 0.75 to 1.0 hours. We talked a lot in Journeys 1 and 2, but we don't want to over-extend anything. Short and to the point, but still valuable.
- Show content
We'll be talking much more about what we're actually working on, as well as focused topics that come up for more in-depth examination (probably as we encounter them in our development). Gone is the rambling; though it was fun, it's time to trim that away. There will be new opening and closing music, as well as a mid-point break, but that's it - no more dedicated musical segments, unless we're specifically demoing Tormod's music. Scheduling Friday nights were nice, but more flexibility is nicer. Especially with an abbreviated show, we can do it pretty much any evening we choose. What won't be changing is the 'live' nature - whenever we make a show, it will be live for you to listen to it. When the show is available as a recording will remain consistent: bi-weekly, on a day and time to be determined.
- Interaction
We're dropping Mumble for Journey 3. It was never really extensively used by our audience to begin with, and was little more than a distraction to us during the show. That's not to say we won't let our audience interact with us, though - if there's a particular topic that you're fond of, drop us a line, and we can work out something to let your voice be heard (literally).
Also of important note, Episode 1 will feature a lawyer-friend we met during PAX! He will be coming on-air to discuss various legal things, the exact content of which we won't spill until the episode proper!
(Spoiler alert: a lot of n00b-level legal questions and answers; perfect for us, and upstarts like us.)
We've also posted our review broadcasts for PAX Dev 2013, PAX Prime 2013 days 1-2, and PAX Prime 2013 days 3-4. We had an absolute blast this year, and we'll go back again next year, fo' sho'.
That's all for now.
