Quest for Semi-Glory!

Hey everybody,

Yesterday, I streamed myself playing a game.  I had looked into it a couple times before, even tested it a couple times, but it never really came out to much more than a passing thing.  And, really, it's something I've been staunchly against for a long time; not so much the actual act, but the other side - why would you spend perfectly good time just watching someone play a game when you could just play it yourself?

That's not to say I haven't watched my fair share of gameplay videos.  I really like the stylings of Game Grumps and Two Best Friends Play, as well as the occasional speed- or score-run by Bananasaurus Rex.  So, I thought, y'know, why not me, too?  There's nothing stopping me from doing it, and even though I'll never (EVER) reach the same popularity - nor would I want that, really - it could be a lot of fun!

So that's what I did!  I've started a new series of broadcasts entitled 'Quest for Semi-Glory'!  The focus of these streams is my (many, many) attempts to shatter my own high scores, with the necessary video proof for...well...just for fun.  Realistically, I know I'll never be the #1 most-awesome player at anything, hence why I'm only seeking semi-glory, but I can still improve!

The first of my many, many quests starts with LUFTRAUSERS!  My goal for each stream is to break my personal high score, by any amount.  My overall goal for the entire Quest is to break into the top #100 (as determined by the Steam leaderboards).  That's a pretty tall order, as I'm sitting at a barely-passable 200-something (as of this writing).  Even so, my Quest wil continue as long as I deem necessary, and as long as it stays fun!

So, if you're inclined to watch a decidedly-mediocre player stumble his way towards a semi-victory (or just want to laugh at my pseudo-kinda-serious rage), swing on by and join my Quests!  I'm using Twitch as the broadcast medium of choice; I'm considering YouTube as another avenue to distribute the highlights of each night (considering how easy it is to do), but I haven't shored up every detail.  I'm going to stream two or three time a week, without a regular, set schedule, but I'll always tweet it as soon as I lay down plans for the next stream.

Oh, and LUFTRAUSERS is just the beginning!  If there's a game to be played that I can improve my own skills with, I'll play it!  And I'll let you watch, just because that's the kind of guy I am.  At the very least, take my (documented) rage as a cautionary and entertaining tale of what happens when you reach just a little too far for that higher score.

That's all for now.

That has crossed my mind!

That has crossed my mind!  Given how (relatively little) time it takes to go through most NES games, it would definitely be a one-off, whereas the streams I've done so far have been multiple nights per game.
