It's always a difficult thing to acknowledge when circumstances are just a bit beyond your control and you need help setting things straight. The ride we're on right now, setting up a business entity, exemplifies this greater than any other situation I have yet to experience. I am, however, very glad that we recognized our shortcomings and chose to reach out to more capable people.
Last week, we met with a CPA to get a few financial matters ironed out, and having had a week to digest what he told us, I am doubly-glad we did so. There are just way too many complexities about business and finance and accounting to keep straight on your own, especially if you're not a professional business guy yourself (and we're not). Now comes the task of packaging our new knowledge and refining it enough to merge into our existing legal work, and then we can proceed just a little further down the path to legitimacy.
This has been a long path so far; but I would be remiss not to state, one more time, how glad I am we are traveling it. PSA: if you're going legit, go all the way, and take your time in doing so.
