That holiday thing

Hey everybody,

So holidays are a weird time of year that I both love and hate - love, because it generally means there is time to relax and otherwise unwind; and hate, because doing so breaks a pretty solid routine that, while sometimes is welcome, also breaks a lot of momentum.  Anticipation of holidays can also be equally destructive.

And boy, let me tell you, this year (or rather, the end of last year) was no different.  I don't know what it is, as I'm not one to even be in the 'holiday spirit', so to speak, so I don't have that crutch to lean on.

Long story short, I'm really looking forward for the new year, if only to put this funk behind me.  I hate being dormant for so long and knowing that it's my own fault; it's much easier to say 'eh, tomorrow' rather than take a critical look at my own behavior and try to fix it now.

Well, anyhow...

Ostensibly, we were postponing the business spin-up stuff for the start of this year, for tax purposes.  I'm not really looking forward to the added tax complexity for running a business, and with switching day jobs in the middle of last year...yeah.  Let's limit it to one major shake-up per year, huh?

We're not too far off - just a paperwork filing away, and we'll be 'official'.  The lingering questions even after meeting with a CPA are really answered just by thinking about them in terms of what we're trying to accomplish.  The real meat, now, is to revise our written materials to match.  It's not difficult, but it will take time and making a few commitments.

That's all for now.
