This November, I gave my word (mostly to myself) that I would strem every night in support of a neat indie game stream charity event called #GivingAFlock. The event is raising money to benefit Child's Play, a charity that purchases video games for children in hospitals. We understand that people can get pretty burned-out on donations between the various charity game streaming (what with the populaity of Games Done Quick, Extra Life, etc), but just showing up, watching, chatting, spreading the word, and the like is very helpful! We could certainly use your support, no matter how much or what kind of support you are willing and able to give.
About halfway through the month now, I do not regret it - streaming is always a fun time, despite (or maybe because of?) the exhaustion. True to my word, Quest for Semi-Glory has streamed and will continue to stream every night this month (sans the 23rd to the 25th), mostly adhering to the regular schedule (7 PM CST on weekdays, 5 PM CST on weekends), plus some extras and one-offs. It is a lot of fun! And very tiring.
So, if you have nothing else to do, need some fun background, or just want to watch some neat games, swing by The #GivingAFlock main channel! No worries if you can't (or don't want to) donate real moneys - just being there to support the streamers, participants, and your friends helps a great deal. And if you can and _are_ interested in donating real moneys, that's great! The event is being managed through a Tiltify campaign, though there is also an option for mailing in donations, as well.
One significant upcoming perk is the merging of this month's Quest for Semi-Co-op with #GivingAFlock - myself, 006, and Boris will be helping defuse various explosive devices on Saturday (the 19th), starting at 9 PM CST. We are veteran defusal experts, and promise to entertain...and possibly save (metaphorical) lives.
Also of note this weekend (though not related to #GivingAFlock) - on the 20th, I will be playing Assault Android Cactus for the Shots Fired 3 marathon, starting at 11:45 AM CST, alongside two other speedrunners in a three-way race.
